Tablecloth size calculator: find the right size for any table
Measure your table. Choose the drop. Find the cloth size that fits your plans.
The drop is the fabric hanging beyond each table edge. Enter the tabletop measurements below; all calculations stay in your browser.
Your table
Common guideline: 6–8 in for casual dining and about 15 in for a formal setting. These presets use 8 and 15 in; they are starting points, not rules. Floor-length uses your table height (default 30 in / 76.2 cm).
Your tablecloth size
Calculated dimensions, not a guarantee of a stock size. Match the cloth shape to your table and check the product measurements before buying.
How it’s calculated
Rectangle or oval: cloth length = table length + 2 × drop; cloth width = table width + 2 × drop.
Round: cloth diameter = table diameter + 2 × drop.
Square: cloth side = table side + 2 × drop.
Use the same unit throughout. 1 in = 2.54 cm. Results display up to two decimal places.
For oval tables, this gives overall length and width. Oval outlines vary; check the maker’s shape and measurements. The diagram is a flat sizing sketch, not a prediction of folds or corner drape.
Tablecloth size chart
Rectangle examples assume a 30 in table width. Floor-length examples assume a 30 in table height. Measure yours: a “6 ft table” describes length, not width.

Frequently asked questions
What size tablecloth do I need for a 6 ft table?
For a 72 × 30 in rectangular table, an 8 in drop needs an 88 × 46 in cloth. A 15 in drop needs 102 × 60 in. A floor-length drop on a 30 in high table needs 132 × 90 in. Measure the width and height of your own table.
What size tablecloth fits a 60 inch round table?
A 60 in round table needs a 76 in diameter cloth for an 8 in drop, a 90 in cloth for a 15 in drop, or a 120 in cloth for a 30 in drop. For a 12 in drop, the calculation is 60 + 2 × 12 = 84 in.
How do I choose a floor-length tablecloth?
Measure from the tabletop to the floor and use that height as the drop. Add twice that height to each table dimension. Corner drape, the table edge and fabric can affect the finished look; reduce the drop if you prefer clearance above the floor.
