Babel is an English-language album by Mumford & Sons, presented in a single-disc edition. Its songs grew through writing on the road and collaborative studio work with Markus Dravs and engineer Robin Baynton.
Key features
Product description
The band began writing the new songs well before entering the studio. Leaving the road was initially difficult because playing live had become central to their creative process: they wrote and rehearsed during soundchecks and tried new material in front of receptive audiences.
Once recording began, the group rediscovered its enthusiasm for studio work. As the album took shape, working again with Markus Dravs and with engineer Robin Baynton made the challenge increasingly rewarding. The musicians describe a closer, more collaborative band in which everyone contributed their strengths, resulting in a natural progression they were proud of and eager to perform on tour.
